General Members

Bye-law 2(d) as approved by the Governing Council, the following Indian citizens may be enrolled as ordinary members of the Institute:

  1. (i)  An advocate having active practice of 1 years or more, in any court in India;
  2. (ii)  Persons who are or have been members of the judicial services;
  3. (iii)  Persons who are or have been teaching in a Faculty of Law, a deemed University, a Department of a University or any other Law School/College recognized for the award of degree of bachelor of laws.
  4. (iv) Student Pursuing there B.A LL.B, LL.B, LL.M,PHD,M.PHIL, RESEARCH SCHOLAR.
  5. Any other person of repute who has made significant contribution in the field of law and/or social sciences in the form of articles published in the renowned legal journals or having published sufficient number of books.

 [Note: Certificate of Experience from Bar Association or Advocate General for Lawyers; and from Dean/Head of Law Departments for teachers to be submitted along with the application in the prescribed form .
